School Admissions - Providing support and advice to schools on all aspects of admissions and appeals
The school admissions team deals with all mainstream admissions to school. This includes the transfer of children from Year 6 to Year 7; first admission to reception class; children transferring from one school to another part way through the year; and application of the fair access protocol.
All admissions to school are governed by admissions regulations, an admissions code of practice (The Code); the school admissions appeals code and relevant human rights and equalities legislation.
The school admissions team will provide detailed advice and guidance to Head teachers, senior leaders and admission authorities on all aspects of admissions law to ensure that places at schools are allocated and offered in an open and fair way, consistent with the requirements of the Admissions Code.
