This training is designed specifically for Childminders. It has been written in line with Warrington's LSCB guidance. The EYFS Statutory Framework states: 'A practitioner must be designated to take lead responsibility for safeguarding children in every setting. Childminders must take the lead responsibility themselves.' Delegates must have completed safeguarding basic awareness training.
- Identifying and responding to the signs and symptoms of different types of abuse
- Record keeping, referral processes and information sharing
- Managing allegations and the role of the LADO
- Early Help referrals
- The Role of the Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB)
Certificates of attendance will be issued by email following the training.
Please note that your name and contact details will be shared with the trainer and venue prior to the course to ensure that you can be contacted in case of emergency. Non-attendance or cancellation within 7 days of the start date of the course will incur a charge. Please contact the team if you have any queries. Hot drinks can be purchased at 30p per cup. Water is provided but we ask that you bring your own cup or bottle in order to cut down on single-use plastics. Please aim to arrive ten minutes before the start as the session will begin promptly. The car park at the end of Barnes Close. Please avoid parking on Barnes Close itself.
All childminders who have already completed Safeguarding Basic Awareness training.
