CAMHS - Self-Harm Awareness Training

Outline

Please check that you meet the criteria to attend as given the limited number of places on each training course, if you do not meet the criteria to attend then you may be contacted by one of the trainers to discuss your suitability for the course. Your place will be confirmed by the trainers via email once they have reviewed your booking & job role.

Description

The objective of this training is to equip professionals working with children and young people with the knowledge and confidence to work with young people who self-harm.

Outcomes

The course aims to help delegates to:

  • Gain a knowledge of the basic definitions of self-harm, methods of self-harm and NICE Guidance
  • Notice signs of self-harm
  • Know what to say and ask when working with someone who self-harms
  • Gain a knowledge of basic interventions for self-harm
  • Gain knowledge of other sources of further advice and support.

The workshop will be delivered by Dr Kelly-Marie Swift (Clinical Psychologist and Dialectical Behaviour Therapist, Warrington CAMHS)

Booking Information

This training sessions is free if you meet the audience criteria but there’s a charge for non-attendance, so if you book onto a session and then don’t turn up, your organisation will be charged. There will also be a charge if you are unable to attend and you cancel your place less than 7 days before the date of the training.
If you attend the training and you are not eligible to attend, then your organisation will be charged.

Please note: you must be able to arrive before the start time and stay for the whole session.

Professionals working with adolescents in Warrington who self-harm - Teachers, SENCO, teaching assistant, Family Support, Youth Workers, Voluntary Sector Workers, School Nurses & Health Visitors.
